The Chines Apartment is a luxury self-catering, apartment, situated in a peaceful residential road with a private parking space just outside. The Chines is a modern conversion of a Victorian hotel, only 200 metres walk along the quiet footpath to sandy North Swanage beach.

The flat is chic and contemporary, filled with light, space and comfort. It happily accommodates up to 4 people. Situated on the ground floor, with its own parking space and space for visitor parking, you will find a king-size double bedroom with en-suite shower room and a twin bedded room with bathroom opposite. There is a lounge/dining room and separate kitchen, and the flat is tastefully decorated. It has the benefit of high ceilings, giving a feeling of spaciousness and style.

Lounge/dining room

The bright bay-windowed lounge looks out onto Burlington Road. The south-facing room features a LCD TV with Freeview channels and a DVD player with a selection of DVDs. There is a 3 seater sofa that is adaptable to a high quality sofa bed along with 2 armchairs. The dining table has four chairs in the bay window.


The kitchen has modern appliances and comes complete with washing machine, fridge with freezer compartment and gas hob/electric oven/cooker hood. There is plenty of crockery, cutlery, glassware and quality pots, pans and cooking utensils for all your culinary needs during your stay.

Main bedroom

The main bedroom is at the rear of the flat with a king-size double bed. There is a spacious wardrobe with full length mirror.

En-suite shower room

There is a good-sized shower, WC and wash basin. A stainless steel laddered towel rail, large enough for all your holiday towels is fitted along with a mirrored bathroom cabinet.

Twin bedroom

With views onto Burlington Road, the second bedroom has twin 3ft beds, dual-aspect windows, and a well stocked games and book cupboard. The room also features a large wardrobe with plenty of hanging and drawer space and a full length mirror, and there is a dressing table and stool. A television completes this room.

Family bathroom

Opposite the twin bedroom is the family bathroom, with bath and shower attachment, WC and wash basin. There is another large laddered towel rail and cabinet for your toiletries during your stay.


The apartment is on the ground floor. It is suitable for guests with limited mobility, because the apartment is on the ground floor with no steps; there is just one small step over the threshold into the building. The doorways are of a good size and there are no steps into the large shower.

The allocated parking space is at the front of the building, but the entrance is at the rear. It is possible to drop off luggage and any limited-mobility guest close to the building entrance door.

Check in and check out times

You can arrive anytime after 3pm.
Check out is by 10am.
There is a key lock box, you will get details after your booking is confirmed.


As well as easy access to the beach via Burlington Chine, the apartment is also just opposite The Grand Hotel, for nearby bar, and within 5 minutes walk of pubs and beach cafes. It is only 15 minutes walk to the centre of Swanage.

We are just minutes from the way marked South West Coastal Path that leads to the North over Ballard Down to Old Harry Rocks, onto Studland Bay and beyond to Sandbanks or to the South and West a short walk into Swanage and then on to Peverill Point, Durlston Country Park and the Jurassic Coast.
